We have noticed a huge increase in call out for Rat activity and Mouse activity in both gardens, domestic properties, and on commercial premises. More and more people are asking us for help because they have Rats in the garden or have heard noises in the loft. But why is that?

Lack of Pest Control Services

Usually there are many pest control companies operating in the Rugby, Coventry, Daventry, and Warwickshire area, however due to COVID-19 and lock down measures being put into place many businesses and local authorities have scaled back operations meaning Rats and Mice have had a chance to breed and grow in population numbers.

Closure of Premises and Build up in Waste

The closure of many businesses such as pubs, takeaways, and warehousing units has meant that the usual food source that Rats and Mice may rely on has been instantly removed. As a result Rodents are travelling further afield looking for alternative food sources, this explains why we are having enquires from clients who have seen a Rat in the garden or have been hearing noises in the loft.

Many local tips and refuse centres have also remained shut, this has meant that many households have had to store excess waste in their garden or outside their property, which in turn has attracted Rats or Mice.
